Cóir Date: 01.10.2009 On the eve of the second vote on the Lisbon Treaty, Cóir has said that it is quietly confident of a No vote and is “ready to fight Lisbon 3 should it be foisted on the people yet again.” “We’re already looking at new posters, and welcome submissions from everyone for a third campaign,” said spokesman Richard Greene. “It may feel like Groundhog Day, but if that’s what it takes, we’ll do this again rather than lose our sovereignty and our constitutional rights.” “Joking aside,” he continued, “we believe the people can see what a con this treaty is, and we’re fully prepared to keep fighting to keep the EU democratic and accountable to the people.” However Mr Greene added that Cóir would not provide consultancy services to the political parties who had, yet again, failed to come up with any good reasons for voting Yes. “We’ll be focusing on making it the best campaign possible,” he said. “Maybe this time we’ll use some provocative posters and stir things up a little.” - End -
